B.Smiley

B.Smiley (Todd Christensen)

B.Smiley

has a prolific background as an electronic music producer and performer.

Hailing from the so-called “Grunge Capitol" of Seattle, young Todd was busy absorbing radio transmissions while growing up - from the psychedelic 60's rock and Motown sounds, on to 70's soul, Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Bob Marley, disco, and the funk grooves ruling the airwaves. Todd played guitar and bass in various hard rock/metal/industrial/alternative bands for some 13 years before the electronic music obsession finally took over in 1998.

The initial electronic/dance revelation came to him at the Glastonbury Music Festival in 1993, listening to Banco de Gaia, Transglobal Underground, and the Stereo MCs. Subsequent trips to England throughout the 90's further exposed him to the explosion of electronic music taking Europe by storm. Techno, house, drum & bass, and “bigbeat” were pulsing everywhere, as dancing became a way of life for so many.

Bitten by the bug, Todd started Men are Pigs music studio/record label in 1998, and dove headfirst into producing his own electronic music. In 2000, as “B.Smiley”, he played with Scintilla at Glastonbury. In addition to his many faceted studio projects, B.Smiley is engineer and co-producer for Late Night Sneaky, with partner in crime, Michael Anthony. B.Smiley has engineered/produced tracks for Bedrock, Distinctive, Baroque, Electrofly, Sunburn, Supperclub, and LowPro Lounge. He has also performed with Late Night Sneaky at Earthdance, Sea of Dreams, Burning Man Decompression, Health & Harmony Festival, and the How Weird Street Faire.
